Fairburn, GA: Region IV of the ACPS held its annual show the weekend of June 10, 2016, at the beautiful Bouckaert Farm, home of Chattahoochee Hills Eventing, just south of Atlanta. The weather was perfect, if somewhat warm, and people from all over the region showed up to participate in a variety of In-Hand and Ridden Classes. Stephanie Fenton-Hickey was the very able organizer.
Sara McCrae was the hardworking judge who, after the show was over, was the Head Inspector for the Regional Connemara Inspections. Vanessa Morgan’s Tullymor's Blush (Tullymor's Chip O’Perseus X Tullymor's Tully Rose), a blue-eyed cream mare, was the grand champion Purebred In-Hand, while Kate Denton’s three-year-old imported Gentle Cailin (by I Love You Melody) was the reserve. Blush was later deemed a Premier Mare by the Inspectors. In the Halfbred Division, Cricket Song (by Bluebeard), owned by Amber Cavalier Spiler, was the Champion In-Hand, with Megan Harris’ old faithful, Sparrow’s Owen (by Grange Finn Sparrow), in Reserve. Fan favorites were Leigh Ellen Ertle’s twin 5 year-old boys and their older sister all riding Big Bear ponies. They did well in many classes and were later seen touring the grounds on horseback with Mom and Dad.
Inspections were held during and after the show with Sara McCrae, Gloria LaCroix, and Donna Duckworth officiating. All ponies were approved.
On Saturday night Megan Harris hosted a grand barbeque in her barn where all could eat and admire ponies at the same time! It was a spectacular weekend.
