The 2022 winner is Tre Awain’s Cricket Song, a 1962 roan mare, 14.2 hands, by *Tourbillon x Loughconeera’s Linnet {Calla Rebel} . She was bred by Laura Balding of St Charles, MO and owned by Catherine Mack of VA who bred her to her famed stallion, Aladdin. Her progeny number in the hundreds over three generations. Most notably she produced Aladdin’s Denver who had more than 150 offspring whose names adorn every list of competition eventing and dressage and jumping Connemaras in the US. Also her three daughters produced many Premium Mares who have continued to give us outstanding and beloved ponies.
