Tyler, TX: Lots of Connemaras competed at the American Eventing Championships held from September 25-28 at the Texas Rose Horse Park and all did really well!!
Winning ribbons were Cady O'Daly Gabriel (2nd in Junior Novice), WH Top Gun (6th in Training Horse), Cobblestone Ivy (7th in Jr Beginner Novice 14 and Under), Carlin LeBeau (8th in Novice Horse), and Foothills Field Marshall (10th in Novice Horse). Also competing were Hideaway's Special Delivery -- 8th year in a row!!-- (13th in Senior Training) and Cady o'Daly Punchline (22nd in Senior Beginner Novice). All divisions had from 25-30 entries. Connemara rider Elliot Blackmon, daughter of ACPS treasurer Cathy Blackmon, who rode Top Gun and Field Marshall also rode her own Irish Sport Horse, Talk's Cheap and ended in the ribbons.
All were in divisions from Jr Beginner Novice, 14 and Under to Senior Training Adult Amateur. So...Connemaras really can do it all!
Half brothers by *Gunsmoke competed at the AEC's. WH Top Gun (left) was 6th in the Training Horse Division. Foothills Field Marshall (right) was 10th in the Novice Horse Division. Both were ridden by Elliott Blackmon.
