The ACPS anticipates being invited back to the Land Rover 3 Day Event on April 23-26, 2020. In preparation for this, we would like to start getting together the group to attend. If you are interested in attending please submit a description of the experiences that would make you and your pony a good ambassador for our breed.
Please include what experiences the pony has had that will allow them to be able to handle the atmosphere at Land Rover. Keep in mind that this is a VERY big atmosphere, you will have to walk the pony through dense crowds of non-horsey people, walk down lanes with flags, and handle a lot of noise.
The Land Rover 3 Day Event is one of two 5* in the USA. Every year around 80,000 people come to watch, with the stadium seating selling out on Sunday the last few years. There are 2 areas of shopping with about 150 vendors with many of the major equine retailers having a booth. Visit www.kentuckythreedayevent.com for more information.
We are looking for a good representation of the breed so half breds are encouraged to apply as well. You and the pony do not have to be jumping big jumps, we want to show the versatility of the breed so a pony teaching a kid to jump 2' is just as important to show as a pony jumping 3'. If you have any questions please feel free to ask. We will then go through all applications and make up a team of 4-5 ponies with 2 alternates. Last year each demo pony received 1 parking pass, 2 full event grounds passes, and a stall. We are assuming that it will be the same this year. All other expenses will be your responsibility.
Our demonstrations are on Thursday, Friday and Saturday and you will need to be there for all 3 demos. If you would like to attend without a pony we are always happy to have more boots on the ground, however, ACPS can not provide any tickets. Insider tip, if you volunteer through the event you get a free all event grounds pass and a volunteer parking pass!
There are several ACPS members that live in the area that have rooms available and there are a few stalls if anyone wants to come in early. Once we get the pony list together we will send out all the info.
Preference is given to ACPS members, all ponies must be registered.
Please send your applications by February 17. Please include videos and photos, to firstname.lastname@example.org. If you applied last year and would like to be considered again just let me know and I can pull last year's application. We are expecting to be invited back in the years to come so even if you are not chosen this year we will keep you in mind for the future.
