The ACPS An Tostal Award goes to a Connemara stallion with a career of outstanding performance, both competitive and non competitive, while promoting the Connemara breed. The 2025 recipient is Foothill’s Field Marshall, (known as “Bruiser”) who is a 17 year old 15 hand bay stallion by *Gunsmoke x Foothills Maybee (Balmullo’s Beacon). He was bred by Vanessa Morgan, promoted for many years by Donna Duckworth, and currently owned and ridden by Elliott Timmons. Bruiser has been eventing with Eliott in the stirrups for most of his career, attracting a fan club wherever they go. He qualified for the AEC’s starting when he was 5, moved up to modified and prelim, and represented the Connemara breed as an ambassador at the Land Rover 3 day event in 2018. He moved to a younger rider after Covid hit and is now back with Elliott and looking to resume his career. Look for him out and around!
