The McKenna Trophy, given by the USEF in memory of

The McKenna Trophy, given by the USEF in memory of Joan McKenna, is awarded to the highest Purebred or Halfbred Connemara in Eventing, Modified through Advanced level. The 2022 Mckenna Trophy goes to HC Celtic Mark, a Connemara halfbred by *ArdCeltic Art x Star Mark. He is owned by Donna Miller (Alpharetta, GA) and ridden by Devon Brown (Kennesaw, GA).

The 2021 McKenna went to *Coud'Poker Tartifume ( Westside Mirah II x Quitus de la Loue (Dexter Leam Pondi)), a purebred bay stallion who is also owned and ridden by Donna Miller.

🍀The Crestwood Award from the ACPS is given for

🍀The Crestwood Award from the ACPS is given for "outstanding personal endeavor on behalf of the Connemara pony". Our winner for 2022 certainly meets that standard. He is Richard Cunningham from Orinda, CA who in addition to his time and expertise, donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to UC Davis to get the Melanoma research project off the ground and to continue the research to this day. 🍀The ACPS created the Connemara of the year Awa

🍀The ACPS created the Connemara of the year Award to recognize a pony who has accomplished something to bring special attention to our breed over the course of the year. This year the Purebred Connemara of the Year Award goes to Wildwych Wily Casanova (Bunowen Castle Ri x *Rudgeway Silver Filigree), a 15 year old grey stallion owned and trained by Raelin Schenk of Bush, LA. He has been in three movies in the New Orleans area and spent hours on the set charming the staff, actors, and public. He was calmly pulling a cart, or a hearse, or standing on the side waiting for his entry. Morning, night, foggy or clear, he behaved like the perfect pony we would expect and was a wonderful ambassador for the breed. You can see him in AMC’s Interview with the Vampire series on TV now!🍀

🍀 The Camlin Award for a career of outstanding

🍀 The Camlin Award for a career of outstanding performance in a mare or a gelding was awarded to 19 year old Windy Hollow Modern Millie (Bantry Bay's Kilcullen x Windy Hollow Lilia) and her owner/rider/breeder Amy Plavin, DVM. Millie and Amy compete primarily in the Vermont area, and are closing in on their USDF SIlver Medal and trying out PSG despite Covid etc. Amy bred Millie and has ridden and trained her for her whole career. 🍀

🍀The An Tostal Award goes to a purebred Connema

🍀The An Tostal Award goes to a purebred Connemara Stallion in recognition of a career of outstanding achievement, both competitive and noncompetitive.

This year the winner is *Chiltern Colm who was bred by Pat Lyne and imported to the US in 1979. He spent most of his career with Caroline Nesbitt and Bob Butcher in NH. He earned many championships in the hunter ring all over the Northeast where he never stopped and rarely touched a rail. He was known for his explosive bucks and his cheerful personality which earned him many fans and converts to the Connemara breed.🍀
