The American Connemara Pony Society and Dressage4Kids are pleased to announce that Elan Stremmel has been selected as the recipient of the 2026 American Connemara Pony Society Scholarship.

Elan has been immersed in the horse world from a young age, competing in various disciplines and joining Pony Club when she was 8. In 2025 she and her Connemara Sport Pony, Bitsy’s Itsy, won the Dressage Seat Equitation Medal Semi-Finals 13 and under class and began competing at the FEI Pony level. Elan trains with and is a part-time working student for Michelle LaBarre, continuing to expand her knowledge and experience as a rider and horsewoman.

Beyond her accomplishments in the competition arena, Elan is deeply committed to giving back to the equestrian community. Elan is a member of the D4K ACT (Advocacy, Community, Team) Program, volunteering regularly with her local barn and at equestrian events. She especially enjoys volunteering at the Lorenzo Driving Competition.

In recommending Elan for the scholarship, Kimberly Williams writes, “Elan is one of the most deserving young people I can imagine for this award. Hard-working, dedicated, committed, kind, and compassionate, she is truly the perfect candidate for this award.”

Upon learning of the scholarship award, Elan writes, “Thank you so much for selecting me as a recipient of the American Connemara Pony Society Scholarship. I am honored and deeply grateful for your generous support. You help so many riders, including myself, follow their dreams. This scholarship provides invaluable support for my training and allows me to attend the D4K Horsemastership Clinic with Robert Dover to focus on my riding goals and develop a stronger partnership with my pony. I promise to put this opportunity to great use as I continue to advance in the dressage arena.”

Dressage4Kids extends its sincere thanks to the American Connemara Pony Society for its continued support of young riders. Through opportunities such as this scholarship, ACPS helps encourage the next generation of horsemen and horsewomen while celebrating the athleticism and wonderful temperament of the Connemara pony.
