I was born and raised in England and have been fortunate to grow up around horses, competing
in eventing, show jumping, and showing both sidesaddle and astride. I’ve had the honor of
competing at major national shows, including the HOYS and Royal Windsor, International at
Hickstead, where I qualified and showed the Connemara stallion Bardsley Squill. Due in part to
my smaller stature, I was often called upon to be a ride judge in Mountain & Moorland classes—
an experience that broadened my understanding of diverse breeds and disciplines. Alongside my
competitive pursuits, I have remained a lifelong fox hunter, immersed in the traditions and
camaraderie of the field.
In 1999, following the ban on foxhunting and an economic downturn in the UK that significantly
impacted our racehorse and point-to-point training business, my then-husband, our five-monthold
son, and I emigrated to the United States. We first landed in Maryland, where I worked
briefly in the U.S. racing industry, before relocating to Virginia. There, my husband joined Bull
Run Hunt as kennel huntsman, and I focused on establishing a successful business training and
selling fox hunters. It was during this time that I began producing and competing ponies for the
McClendon family—dedicated fox hunters and Connemara enthusiasts—all of them by the
prolific stallion Bobby Brown. My most notable partnership was with the remarkable Bluebirds
Merry Chase (Bobby Brown x Abbeyleix Bluebird), a 13.3hh powerhouse who hunted across
Virginia, whipped in, gave leads, and fearlessly tackled cross-country courses. Our partnership
culminated in winning the Virginia over-fences hunter pace series.
Later we moved to Massachusetts to join the Norfolk Hunt Club, I continuing to produce ponies
for the McClendons while remaining active in hunting and eventing. In 2017, I remarried and
relocated to a remote area in Western Massachusetts, where my husband Mark and I now reside
on our farm. At present, I own seven ponies total—five being Connemara Ponies, (three U.S.-
bred, two imported), a Thoroughbred stallion, and my retired event pony.
My lifelong commitment to fox hunting, combined with a diverse background in breeding,
training, and competing, has shaped who I am today. I am deeply grateful for the countless
opportunities I have been fortunate enough to receive. I remain dedicated to producing reliable,
athletic horses and ponies that can excel in the hunting field, the show ring, and beyond.
